🤘 The Satoshi T-Shirt

The Super Bowl was this week and the co-founder of Twitter and Block, Jack Dorsey, was photographed in the stands with fellow Bitcoiner Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Jack’s choice of clothing attracted as much attention as his A-list companions because he was wearing a black T-shirt that said "Satoshi" in yellow lettering.

🤯 Food for thought

Since our last newsletter, the new Bitcoin ETFs in the US have chowed up over 43k+ Bitcoin from the market.

A dramatic rise compared to the first 20 days of trading which came to 42k+ Bitcoin.

Why does this matter? Currently, Bitcoin is only producing (minting) 900 new Bitcoins per day and 6,300 per week but the new US ETFs are snapping up multiples more than this each day from the market.

And if we factor in the Halving in a few months, this 900 drops to 450.

I’ll leave that with you. Food for Thought.

🛝 The UK slips

In the least surprising news this week, it emerges that the UK has “slipped” into a recession. The ONS confirmed that the UK’s GDP contracted by 0.3% in the final quarter of 2023. The contraction places the economy officially in a recession.

This will come as no surprise to those living in the UK and this week we’re feeling grateful for the creation of Bitcoin. Here is a simple video which demonstrates what saving in GBP does.

🐺 The Wolf of Bitcoin Street

Jordan Belfort, known for the real-life story behind the film ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ has come out defending Bitcoin.

Once a harsh critic himself, surprised viewers by acknowledging a new breed of “smart mugs” entering the Bitcoin arena whilst being interviewed by Piers Morgan.

🔥 What else have you missed?

1. The SEC Chair Gary Gensler clashed with a news anchor about Bitcoin live on television.

2. An old man whines about shrinkflation. We prefer Jordan’s version though.

3. Independent Financial Advisors in the US could drive billions of dollars to Bitcoin ETFs.

4. Calling all developers! Advancing Bitcoin conference is back on the 13-15th March in London. Grab your ticket today and claim 10% off with code: bitcoincollective.
